about 40 t0 50 for a Herman island tortoise .PS we call him Herman.
dustypuss - he has probably been at it with anything and everything in the garden. If he has never seen a lady tortoise he is none the wiser.

believe it or not, I love all animals.
Got a re-homed Westie after my last Westie died.
I have looked after a feral cat at work for 18 years and I am animal mad.
I hide the fur coat, Dalmation of course, under the bed where no-one can see it.
Thats amazing Dusty ! Our one and only tortoise,Timmy, never survived his first hibernation, but if he had,he'd have been around that age now !
Lucky you. I had one who was about 70 years old until a neighbour's dog brokje through our garden fence, attacked him, broke his shell and killed him. I was so upset. I used to feed him on tinned garden peas when he first came out of hibernation to try and build him up. He also liked small pieces of avocado pear which are another nourishing food to kick-start them.
