That is lovely.
Oh, that's lovely! And endearing. And hilarious. Loved it. Such clever birds.
They don't look like British magpies though.
Quite brilliant watching the birds at play, so to speak. Have to say, also a tad sad in that she has become so reliant on them.
Clever birds. I only found out today when we went on a trek through some fields that Magpies are related to crows. We saw loads of them.
Not really sad Ken, as they led her to a vocation that she's good at.

In a way though they have given her a new outlookin life, unlikely soulmates but lovely all the same.

Far more tuneful than our Magpies too.
My grandchildren found an injured crow a few weeks ago.
Took it home and began nursing it back to health.
In no time it was like a pet, sitting on their shoulders to be fed.
Once recovered they took it to a sanctuary.
They were upset to see it go.
Wow! Thanks for sharing that.
Well i find it a bit sad. Twice in the piece she states she wouldn't know what she would do without them.

I know what you mean as she has depression and social anxiety but through her friendship with the Magpies she now has work in a similar field - that has to open up possibilities for her.
Pete, come here!

Peach wasn't listening, brilliant.
That's lovely, thanks Mamya :-)
Not surprising how the magpies have helped her. They are very sociable and clever creatures, all the crow family are. My dad rehabilitated wildlife of all kinds and we had some long termers, a magpie called Maggie who could imitate the neighbour telling her dog off, a jackdaw and a rook called Nick who sat on the handle of my pram for hours 'watching over me'. They all had good vocabularies and were quite good mimics.
Thanks, Mamya, brought back happy memories.

Glad you enjoyed it Roo - incredible memories you have there.

A Great Uncle of mine had a Myna bird - he was quite rude which of course as children we found hilarious.
One of my previous vets had a tame crow that was just part of the practice he was very friendly but tormented any cats that came in
Question Author
Oh yes crows and their like and cats are often at battle here.
