Genuine question, no stupid answers required, thanks.

If I flush my goldfish down the toilet, will they survive?

For goodness sake.. folks can't have much going on in life if they can get so excitable about goldfish!

I have to wait for visitors to catch it as it runs from me coz it knows it will be brushed. Its impossible to wrap it in a towel & brush it - pesky thing !
Ferlew, it's boy #1, boy #2, girl, thing 1 and thing 2 :)
Or a little chopped up lettuce...
Sorry. Missed last page! That was for swim-bladder, not about sherr's children.
Damn Pixie, was just adding chopped lettuce to my Asda order :(
Lol. Do carry on x
B*gger, sorry Sherra.
What variety are thing 1 and 2 ?
Ferlew, even I forget the number goes up so high (I look at documentaries, etc and think 'five kids! What are they thinking'). Thing 1 is a girl and thing 2 is a boy.
Nice mix, I still want the kitty though.
Words fail me :-(
Are they still alive baby_sham? We need to know how the story ends,
I have to agree with Boo here.

Why on earth do people bring animals in to their lives if they are not prepared to care for them to the best of their ability?

Aquarist classified has been suggested to you, but if the fish are dying then you have to 'man up' and euthanise them. It's a lovely job! Not.

People really disappoint me at times.

Right. Update on the fish.... they've gone. But not down the toilet.

I felt a bit bad about it, despite it being the easy option, and took them to the park instead and dumped them in the pond with the other fishies.

To be fair, we've had the fish for a year now, but it was a pain in the arse when going away for the weekend and stuff, as I'd always have to get someone to come in and feed them.

I'm sure they're much happier now :-)
Do the kids know yet?
Question Author
No. Nice little surprise for them when they come home from school.

They hate them, and constantly ask me to remove them from their rooms.

The shock of going into 'foreign' water in a cold pond has probably killed them...they could easily have survived a weekend without being fed.
''I'm sure they're much happier now''

Just as long as it makes you feel better...

Yeah, I definitely made the right decision.

LOVE your avatar. I have a mug with it on :-)
poor fish, why have pets when you can;t be bothered with them??
