I mentioned last year that I had a fox in my garden. Well it is either back or I have another one.

I saw quite a large one on Christmas night on the other side of the road and today I went out to see what damage I had to my fence caused by the wind and there is a big hole dug underneath the fence.

I need to repair the fence but would like to deter the fox from digging under it.

Quite a few decent suggestions can be found on Google - look up 'deter foxes'.
I can remember seeing in a magazine similar to innovations, a gadget that stands in your garden and emits an infra-red signal and when the signal is broken it shoots a jet of water in that direction
I had a similar problem, and was advised on here that human urine is the best deterrant.

It took a while to convince my other half... but it works!!!
Can you remember what it was called vicious sid? It sounds the ideal thing to deter neighbours cats from fouling my garden - piles of it this morning, Ugh!
or human hair bundled into old tights hung from the fence, hide them behind bushes and trees etc to hide them
I know someone who tried the human urine method, and it worked.

Piles of it? Really? Most unlikely to be cats then I would think ann86.
Hope I didn't dream this, but I seem to recall there is a lion bi-product that you can buy, that does the job.
sallybb is correct. A neighbouring golf club uses lions 'by-product' scattered near saplings to deter grazing deer. Works a treat.
Im studying for a diploma in animal management and during my farming lessons we learnt that human urine around the boundry and also human hair tied around will help to deter them.
also make sure that there are no food sources available to them.
