...since I was diagnosed as a Diabetic.

It has just dawned on me how far I've come and how much things have changed. It still amazes me how everything was done then and how much of a faff it was to how easy it is. I'm in much better control. I actually feel that after a few bad days this has put a small smile on my face.

They are DT, past few days have knocked me for 6 so it's nice to have something to pick me back up.
Thank you Sandy, it's actually the second time today I've smiled. A wee boy came into my work this afternoon and got 2 Star Wars balloons, he was such a happy wee should that was also a turning point today :)
Thank you Sib and Marval, it amazes me 25 years and I'm just kicking 28. I've dealt with a lot and I'm actually really proud of how sensible I am now compared to the child I was who clearly didn't give a rats about the seriousness of the condition.

Aw thank you Tony :)
i would guess that part of the easier is that you have grown up in those 25 years - you probab;y have better control now because 1) you are not still growing and 2) you're not a stroppy teenage girl who doesn't control things deliberate;y

Sort of Bednobs. What I meant was I don't have to take a blood sample a few days or so in advance and send it into the hospital. You just get it done in clinic and you have the results in minutes. Also you don't have to mix up insulins they come already mixed or as a single type and you don't have to try and match up test strips to work out what your sugars are or if you have ketones etc.
But yes I have grown up (I wasn't a stroppy teen believe it or not) I did rebel in regards to my health but as a teenage girl I wanted to be like my friends. I'd also reached the point when I had had enough of the condition, but I did see a therapist which helped. But it's also easier in the sense I can dose my insulin for what carbs I eat so I can actually have a little more of what I didn't have the option to have before.
