No point arguing with me, pixie. If my answers don’t suit you’ll have to ask the Eds.
Thanks Naomi, I vaguely remember that thread but hadn't absorbed the 16 number before today.
No problem, Prudie.

Tcl, stick it on the mod thread?
In answer to your question at 17.19, pixie, that will be rule number 1.
Who would want to be a mod here ? lol..a thankless task..all "rules" are open to personal interpretation as far as boundaries and degree of offence caused.....and some are more tolerant..diplomatic.. than others.. but hey ho..it is what it is..the log out option is always there if you don't like things... and it is not the "real world" is it ? move along if you are unhappy... personal attacks on mods are not good and at times come across as petulance...
Can I just say at this juncture that I am not now, nor am ever likely to be, a mod. So there.
...^^^..and I am NOT Spartacus ! ;0)
I could imagine the backlash if mods did have some sort of private conference room or chat facility - accusations of plotting and ganging up on members, backstabbing, gossiping and who knows what else.

I didn't need to 'come out' with my new modship - the invitation and acceptance was all done on AB.
I did stamp my foot and huff and puff when a post of mine was removed. I got over it after a long lie down with a cold flannel over my eyes.
barry1010 "There is only one set of rules and guidelines. Mods volunteer...". Really? Thought that two of the newer mods were invited in mid-thread? People should not treat others as stupid.
i am sure the administration appoints moderators who are competent enough to remove a post without another moderator holding their hand
Choux, you are quite right, I was invited but I voluntarily accepted. Volunteer in the sense of no remuneration, no fixed times, no perks, no rights was my meaning in the previous post.
I'm not clear but are you accusing me of treating people as stupid?
Oh,dear,i have been feeling really poorly lately.Poor Miffy.Perhaps some of the more kindlier members of AB could send up a case of whisky or perhaps two cases of Advocaat to Aberdeen that might help things a wee bit.Poor Miffy.Poor, poor, poor Miffy.
there there miffy xx
What The Funicular
Can I be a mod please ED. I will be very very fair with my decisions. .....Please ED. ..I have lots of very good friends on AB.
Well the SpareEditor was asking how things have been recently.I thought i would answer truthfully.
