Much better, thank you. Adverts posing no problems. Some areas need more than a gentle hand. Still too much personal rudeness in News. Heated debate is fine but not personal attacks or name calling.

This post outlines what is good and bad about AB. Allowing the nasty digs at people from certain ABers must put people off especially when they are totally off topic. There was no reason at all for Gulliver's response but he gets away with it yet again.

The reduced adverts are amazing, I hope it's not been too much of a sacrifice? The gentler moderation I have not noticed in the slightest. I would prefer a bit more openness and honesty about it all. We know you need the members so new people and rude people are allowed to crack on but long standing mild-mannered members get slapped wrists for the slightest thing. I'd like it to be gentler across the board.

And for the honesty bit, where are all these new posters, especially from the US coming from with their B&S or Society problems. Do you think these are real people. How do they even find this site. They look like made up stuff to me. I don't care but would like to know the truth.

Not good for me, SpareEd. The adverts haven't been much of a problem at all.
I have a mod who likes to try to belittle me at every opportunity. There can be a thread of dozens of answers. I post something which is the same opinion as others. She is straight in with a pompous comment and dig.
CB used to be okay but now she is there telling me what not to post despite others have posted similar.

I lived in the UK and was involved in politics there for many years. Now if I post about anything in the UK I'm told I have no right as I live in Ireland.

Dave and I have to be careful about posting on the same thread even if our views differ, which they sometimes do, as Deskdiary will be in calling him my lapdog and me worse. You know that, Ed.

I have really loved AB for many years. It was once such fun. I could do a daily Bliss thread for fun and for others to join in. That had to end because of the nastiness that arrived.
I made so many great friends on this site. Most of those friends are no longer posting but we remain in contact. We are left with far too many grumpy and argumentative members.

I wish you well and I mean that but it's going to be a struggle to get the AB we once knew back. x

GNESS, if you've not done so already, you should let the EDs know your concerns.

That way you can be a bit more explicit about any specific individuals you're having issues with rather than naming names on here.
