vista transformation?

i wud luv 2 try vista trans but i am a wee bit apprehensive. can one get out of it by simply using system restore.

disappearing restore points

i have a problem in that for some reason the restore points remove themselves ,yesterday i had 3 to 4, now there is only today. help me guys

info on my pc says dimm o has 512mb of memory and dimm1 is empty. can i put a further 512 mb into dimm1to upgrade to 1gb
