diesel solenoid

hi fitted a new diesel solenoid to my mondeo 1997 but the car wont start been told it has to be ford solenoid and not a multi purpose one and has to be coded in is this true thanks

mondeo wont switch off

mondeo turbo diesel wont switch off on key .all lights work on ignigtion and go out when key turned off told it was stop solenoid got a second hand one as ford wanted 143 pounds new car still does not...
