Thursday. Horizon to horizon cloud this morning. Not looking good. We had some heavy rain yesterday afternoon. The car needed a wash. :o} I don't think I'll be doing much outside today.

How weird......I had to do a crash reboot - you probably had to get into your settings and trigger the connection from there (if Windows 7)

been doing a lot of that myself DTC. not very reliable at the moment.

It's a long standing problem mate. Due to the ten mile distance from the exchange. There is an exchange two miles away which my neighbour is on and she has no problem. My place had a phone line before the closer exchange was built. There are several on the same exchange as me and all have the same problem. We keep asking BT to put us on the nearer exchange, but they just say it would cost too much, so we are hoping that cable will come to us.

fine thank you boaty. how are you? at least if the weather is not good you can't be out and about doing too much. I've to get to the workshop today and start throwing away. had a go the other day but kept getting interruptions.

I'm not doing much today LJ. Just the hoover hop and a bit of dust rearranging into a new pattern. :o}

Morning Lady J, just getting breakfast and meds ready for the mater.....

I'm about three miles to the exchange, surprising speed given it's all copper wire (prone to lightning strikes) so I keep a spare router here.

The router is fine. It's just the power drop over the distance.

There's not much you can do about that - would have thought that they could install a booster down the line somewhere....

I'd like to afford to have a G4 poota, but the cost is a lot more than I can afford.

There is one, but it's an old one and they have no plans to change it.
