Car Insurance

My car insurance is up for renewal this month, and it seems a bit high.

Can anyone personally recommend a comparison website, at they have dealt with please ?

try DirectLine; they're not on comparison sites but every time I check them out they've been the cheapest for me. (I think Aviva also stay away from the comparison sites.)

If you get a lower quote anywhere you can always go back to your old insurers and invite them to match it or lose a customer. Unfortunately we have to haggle over everything these days, customer loyalty means nothing to companies.

Went to Co op this year £80 pounds cheaper than Direct Line renewal quote plus £50 shopping vouchers.

Just cannot figure out why it varies so much.

Shop around...Go-Compare or I'm confused (not to mention hacked off).

Just got a quote from Aviva, for £390 ! Half what my own company wants
to charge me !

Mikey - good news about your quote.

I would play the 'trade-off' game - advise your current broker of your new quote, and offer them a chance to beat it. They will or they won't, but it only takes a minute to find out.

I called them yesterday evening and it was all sorted out in 10 minutes. I did try my present insurer but they only offered £50 pound off their outlandish quote, and I had to pay the cost of the call to them to hear that !

Aviva looks very efficient. I printed out all my stuff early this morning.
