I saw a sign 'advertising' an £80 fine for not clearing up dog poo, with a maximum fine of £1000, how nasty does your dog have to be to win the £1000 prize? Should you be disappointed if you only got the £80?

Is that Zoe Ball and a giant poop?
It would probably depend on whether the arresting copper / pcso stepped in it.
joggerjayne - I was thinking that it looks like Zoe Ball and a 'crap' circle!!
don't start me off, Barking & Dagenham council in Essex are going to have a register of dog's DNA and then if they find poo left in the street they are going to take a sample that .... wait for it .....has to be sent to the US of A for analysis and the they are going to fine the dog owner ! all this is going to cost 2 million to kick start. Crazy or what ? and did I mention the people on the council who have proposed this idea have all been on a "jolly" to the States to the DNA testing centre, nice work if you can get it !
"jolly"?

Surely ... "research and fact finding visit"!
jj that's what I said a "jolly" LOL !
It's not the dogs that are 'nasty', it's the irresponsible owners for not picking up !
It's sad that people need to be fined. I never go out with my poodle without a poop bag.

I hope the poop bag is for the poodles benefit. :-)
dee sa - how the hell will that work?
bednobs it gets crazier and crazier, they are going to take swabs [ owner permitting] at park gates ! LOL ! if my beloved shar pei Taz was still on this earth he would definitely have bitten them trying to do that ! especially if they wore a uniform ! he hated men in uniforms.
Why they are going to target dog owners in the park I don't know because there is tons & tons of *** from the ducks and the geese everywhere.
if you were the type of person to leave your dog's poo lying around then surely you are going to say no thanks to the swabbing?

Isn't the DNA thing voluntary, so only the people who are likely to pick up the poos are going to be on the database, which will make it impossible to catch the people who haven't registered?
This has not been thought through...people will accuse the council of having nocturnal dogpoo hunters who steal poo from gardens and 'plant' it in the street to increase council revenue.
//nocturnal dogpoo hunters who steal poo from gardens and 'plant' it in the street to increase council revenue//
and that's not the worst of it; what if neighbour were to incriminate neighbour by nocturnal planting. Where will it all end? - neighbourhood turd-watch schemes must be set up before it's too late.
labels on cocktail sticks saying 'turdwatch aware' will be a 'must have'
Tarrif:
Yorkshire Terrier: £80
Irish Wolfhound £1000

On size of 'parcel left' perhaps? ;-)
