Last year when I got this new computer the computer guy was able to buy me the above for £9.99. However I have received an email from McAfee saying it will be expiring in June and it is £39.99. Anybody tell me where I can get the £9.99 deal. Thanks

If you're with BT, some of their packages include "BT Net Protect Plus" (in association with McAfee) - apparently a few of the features in the main McAfee suite aren't included, but it might be worth a look?

king - that works out at £44 a year
It's free with the packages listed on the link - if you've not got one of those, then yes, you pay for it -

"BT NetProtect Plus is free with all BT Infinity products (apart from 20GB BT Infinity 1), or if you have Unlimited Broadband extra or BT Total Broadband Option 2 or Option 3. If you've got Broadband, Unlimited Broadband, BT Total Broadband Option 1 or 20GB BT Infinity 1, you can add BT NetProtect Plus for just £3.70 a month, with the first month absolutely free."
I've always used this and never had a problem and it's free

I was trying to answer jj's Q, not necessarily advocating its use :-)
McAfee isn't that good...I wouldn't pay anything for it!
Microsoft security essentials works fine for me and it's free, why spend money?

Good find SA!
I'll stop pointing out that in some instances it's free.

Perhaps jj likes & is used to McAfee & is happy with its performance?
Did the computer have Windows 8.1 on it, because if it did it already has anti virus built in (Windows Defender).

Just uninstall McAfee and Windows Defender is turned back on (only on Windows 8.1 though)
