I have Vista Home Premium, Windows Defender and McAfee Security. A warning message under Malware in Windows Security saying that no antivirus software can be found. Directly underneath it says that Defender and McAfee virus scan are both on. I've run McAfee Virtual Tech. and that says that everything is OK. I don'y know whether to ignore or panic. Could anyone throw some light on the subject please? Many thanks.

I believe you should ignore this. When i had AVG antivirus installed there was the same problem for me. Some anti-virus programs don't have anti-malware protection so maybe this is the reason. Or It might be that Vista just mistakenly recognize McAfee Security.

Thanks for the info. I did read somewhere that this can happen but could find no reference. I did another scan before going on the net tonight and it all seems back to normal. Thanks again.
