was that the same guy that gave Kinnochio a pasting in 1992 mikey? If Red ED is in No 10 after the election I'll eat your hat!
Morning mikes.........you mean this John Major:

1992.... Economy in turmoil, unemployment up, Neil Kinnock an odds on winner.........Labour couldn't lose...........who did the electorate go for?

Tory....with whom? JOhn Major.
I can see this thread backfiring.
At least they have straws to clutch, a bit more tangible than labour rhetoric.
Question Author
Sqad....yes...thats the one !

The one that reduced the number of Tory MP's at Westminster from 336 in 1992, to 165 in 1997. Even in 1992, he reduced his MP's down from 376 to 336.

His mismanagement to put the Tory Party in opposition for 12 years !

Labour can hardly be said to be quaking in its boots, now he has been dug up again !
It's also worth noting that Labour's '97 victory came after no less than 4 election cycles where they had been defeated.... almost 20 years.

And that, by number of votes cast (and not number of seats), Major in 1992 was technically the most popular candidate for PM in British history.
John Major should know all about mayhem. The Conservative Party he inherited was mad as a box of frogs and was deeply divided over Europe. The whole 'family values' theme while he was having his affair with Currie and most of his MPs were sleazy adulterers, was a hugely hypocrtical.

Seems like an odd choice to deliver this message about a Lab/SNP pact.
Kinnock in 1992 got more votes coming second than Cameron did in 2010 coming first.
This idea that leaders of the past have to be ushered out of the way, though, seems a bit strange. Like him or not, Major was PM of the country for seven years. I don't see the problem with him getting involved in the debate.
And what "big guns" have Labour got to drag out? Kinnock, Hattersley, Blair and Brown. Bring 'em on!

By the way, if all you can do to mock Major is by repeating Ms ad nauseam that says more about you than it does Major. Mocking the afflicted is obviously not a sin in your book.
Quite right Jim,
I mean what muppet would want the endorsement of Blair the warmonger last week. I believe Blair mentioned the word "trust" in his vomit inducing speech. He couldn't spell the word.
Gromits summing up of the final Major adminstration:

. The Conservative Party he inherited was mad as a box of frogs and was deeply divided over Europe. The whole 'family values' theme while he was having his affair with Currie and most of his MPs were sleazy adulterers, was a hugely hypocrtical.

was a hugely accurate one

The name Blair just brings to mind, War Crimes, Treason and general betrayal of his fellow Man!
Mikey, I don't recall that John Major had a stammer - so why have you spelled his surname with 6 "m"s?
// I believe Blair mentioned the word "trust" in his vomit inducing speech. He couldn't spell the word. //

you mean Bliar spelt it "turst ?"
My thoughts exactly
Next thing you know, Labour will be wheeling out John Prescott
// Next thing you know, Labour will be wheeling out John Prescott//

we could open a book on whether Prezza can get through THIS election without hitting anyone.
Yes I remember John Prescott. The sleazy slob who was having it off with a secretary. The one who acting as Deputy P.M. never left Dorneywood whilst Blair was organising his war crimes with Bush.Nice picture of him playing croquet with the girlies on the lawn like the Champagne Socialists they all are.
