I once worked in BBC Press Office. Once or twice in 7 years a member of the public managed to get through to us. they were such hard work I vowed never to work in a public facing role. too much like hard work!

A few years ago, if business was a bit slow, I used to do the odd shift as a Door Supervisor in Canterbury or Ashford, (Still got a valid SIA Ticket).
That guy was a bit OTT, although that type of behaviour was not unusual.
The worst I came across was when filling-in at Canterbury or Margate Hospitals, some strange people about!
I have just got in from the pub, ..................

A. I saw this linked to from a national newspaper site.
B. You may have seen a similar idiot but you did not film it for the world to see.
C. Yes it was filmed recently, which is why I posted in the news.
D. No I did not film it. It appears to be somewhere in the south, and I am definitely hundreds of miles away.

I do work with the public. I've been insulted, but nothing like that. I don't think he'd worry me, though. He looks incapable of physically hurting someone. I think I'd struggle to keep a straight face, to be honest.
Looks like just a normal weekend evening when I ran a railway station. (I actually quite enjoyed the challenge of dealing with threatening, abusive drunks and I'd happily swap shifts to work wekend evenings when others didn't want to do so).

Did you know that all main railway stations have a fridge which is kept solely to store DNA samples in, together with DNA sampling kits, so that the saliva from spit aimed at staff can be collected and preserved?
I have done and I hated it. There is never any excuse for any kind of rudeness or bad language.
EEK ! Hail Mary.....although when in benefits I think I had his family in the office !
Nice, I hope I have 10 sons just like him... not.

Used to work with the public, got moaned at all day, permanent smile fixed to face and did everything I could to help within reason - I think that's why I became a hermit when I left work for the day, shut myself inside and refused to speak to anyone as I was all 'niced' out.
Now I'm the 'client' and always treat contractors with respect. I very much doubt I'll ever work with Joe Public again - unless it was my own business and I could tell them to burger orf if they got unnecessarily lippy.
