Ha ha trt!!! Not now ... but once upon a time ;0)
... & that's because they both left a while back!
I wouldn't allow it. I'd slap their hands with a wooden spoon if they attempted to answer their mobiles at the dinner table.
ummmm: You're holding back.. I'd go straight for the silver ladle.
We never sat round the table for tea as both would finish at different times. Son was the main culprit, his girlfriend would want to know if he was going round there & I'd be going mad he was talking to her with mouth full! Never happened at the Christmas table though! There's something about lads & roasts where nothing interrupts the eating of it! He's more civilised these days ;0)
Are you on your mobile trt ;0?
Elina: Maybe because there's more things to hit your son with at Christmas? I've had someone come at with with a carving knife before; I did what I was told.
No, no, no. Not allowed, never was. Round the table was 'family time' where we talk to each other.
Dizmo, I think the informality of not sitting around a table may have had something to do with it. To be fair though this particular girlfriend was a little impatient & would ring/ text him to see where he was, so partly her fault too. My biggest irritation though would be him talking to her whilst eating, I used to tell him off about it. He lives abroad now but will be back for Christmas & mums Christmas roast!!
I've never stepped over that line with my mother. Just like I dare not swear in front of her. I think I'd live out a very short life if I swore in front of her!
Well that's very respectful of you Dizmo .
have just never allowed it. to be fair they would never bring anything like that to the table. thank goodness. I might get a bit cross else.
I know what the boys were doing but what was Dad doing with a somewhat strange machine.

Hans.
no. dinner table. we '' talk '' to each other.
We don't get much of a signal here in this wonderfully hi-tech Duchy.
yeah good one

I just dont make myself that available
What is wrong with writing ?
I can just cope with emails but usually only clear them once a day
We don't have a dining table, our terraced house is too small for one.
no no no....how rude !
PP: Would I be required to write a letter to one, whilst at the table, asking to pass the salt?
