Can any kind person tell me if it possible to exchange the standard fitted mirrors which are fully electronically controlled (this includes them being folded inwards) for a set of mirrors that react just to the usual tilting up/down etc. Thanks in anticipation

not sure why you'd want to but you could un bolt them and cut the wires that handle the movements that you don't want. Or you could just use the functions you want. Sorry cannot understand why you'd want to remove functionality.
On reason could be to see what's going on in the rear-view mirrors while sitting there with the engine switched off?
Ooops. On=one!
so the fold in is not needed? Generally that's an option that can be switched off anyway. What's the car?

Thanks chaps, but the reason for my wanting to get rid of the folding ability is simple. Jeeps charge £280.00 each for like for like replacements, and this appears to be a very common occurrence,so I just need to eliminate a very expensive recurring problem....
