I have just been pottering about in the kitchen with the door open and Tilly was outside.. I heard her barking at the fence and went out to fetch her in, stopping for a moment to put mygarden shoes on.

When I went out, Tilly was hanging from a lower 'stub' a Hawthorne bush. The D ring on her collar had got caught and she was struggling, with her legs off the ground, to free herself. I managed to lift her off and she fell to the ground. She lay there for about 30 seconds, gasping, then got to her feet and shuffled off.

I have now taken her collar off. God, that has really shaken me.

None of my cats have worn collars for years, because of these type of accidents, pleased to say that none of mine experienced them though.
Thank god all ok. Have plenty of hugs. Both my dogs have collars on and go in and out dog flap , stay in garden for ages but have taken low hanging twigs ,branches off. Hope this helps. Take care
Glad to hear both are okay (bet the cup of tea did the trick) - just a thought - hope Tilly2 is microchiped if she is going to be without a collar just in case she were to get out.
