While in Wilkinsons on Monday, lining up to pay, I saw that the lady in front of me was asking for her ID. I thought she must have bought a load of tablets or similiar -- She bought small plastic knives, forks and spoons.

It is a bit bonkers, I bought a spade from Tesco once and had to show ID. I think they thought I was planning on burying a body.

I pointed out to the supervisor that I could easily cave someone's head in with a tin of beans and nobody ever queried that.

Lol 2sp. Us in the queue were in fits of laughter. Couldnt believe that you needed id for cutlery. haha.
From my days running an online purchasing system, I would say that someone has wrongly classified the plastic knives as just knives, therefore the till will flag them up as dangerous weapons.

Daft, eh?
We went to Matalan to buy an ironing board. Mr M, who at the time was 68, was asked if he was over 12!
