A few days ago a photograph appeared on the sideboard. It was of OH's three grandchildren. This was an old photo that I had replaced in its frame with a new one at Christmas. I had put the photo away somewhere, can't even remember where. Neither of us had put it there. I waited until my grandchildren came round today to ask if they had found it anywhere, they all said they hadn't seen it before. So another thing to add to the list.
We had another one last week. OH was trying to repair the water softener, he had it in pieces. When he come to put it back again a two foot long piece of piping had disappeared. He had not moved from the softener while doing it. Never seen it again.
I had a silver hair slide, put it on the night table and never seen again for about 5 years. Opened a drawer in the lounge and it was there on top. We looked every where for that slide.
I lost a chunky silver ring about 2 years ago. I was sure I had put it away in my jewellery box as usual. Hunted the house. No sign.
About a fortnight ago it just appeared on the floor at the end of the bed. No way I could have walked over it for all that time, or not hoovered it up.
My sister lost her engagement ring and searched and never found it.
Years later it turned up in the finger of a glove she hadnt worn for yonks.
Great relief.
I do realise that my ring could have been caught up in a coat sleeve or old handbag or other such hidey hole, but I like to think there is something mysterious about such reappearances!
Mine's the usual - put two socks in the washer and only one sock came out!! This was on Saturday and still haven't found it despite a thorough search !! Where DO these socks get to ??
My oddest experience of something turning up was years ago when I had been to McDonalds with a friend and some of our children. I used to take off a ring when I washed my hands and became worried as it was no longer on my finger. Said to friend I think I have left my ring on basin in McDonalds. At that same moment I looked down at one of my hands and right in the middle of my palm was the ring. Bizarre and difficult to explain.
defo had one in my flat in Golders Green, in the upstairs room plates fall from the walls and fly across the room, a man dis commit suicide there, and my dog hated it, he howled and howled so I left!! Then the floor of the same room completely fell in!
Peter you have misread the situation. We already had a photo of the children in a frame. At Christmas we received a new up to date photo of them. I replaced the old photo with the new one in the frame. The old photo I put away somewhere. Three months later the old photo appeared lying flat on the sideboard. Neither of us had retrieved the old one, we don't know how it appeared there.
