Sometime last night, my BT Broadband went bu**er-up. I spoke to a very nice chap in India, who said that there was a "network problem"
So I am (just about) managing with my small Acer Notebook, via a Three Network dongle. But it isn't the same ! Not sure how long they will be in fixing this bl**dy problem but I am not a happy bunny one little bit !
I need to connect with the laptops that belong to my two employers before midnight tonight, or I won't get paid. I could try McDonalds I suppose but how anybody works in that place, with all the flipping kids screaming and running around !
My life is on hold until I get my Broadband back !
mikey - find a nice inn or hotel and have a coffee or something stronger while you check through your pcs.....I am at my local inn with the Sundays and about to have another coffee and some toast and jam.....
This little Acer notebook thingy is OK I suppose but I have fingers like pigs nipples and I keep pressing two keys at once ! And I am missing my 32 inch screen ! But I suppose the loss of broadband might make me do something else for a change, like walk the dog. Raining here in Wales though, and we had snow up on the Brecon Beacons yesterday ! Expect it warm and sunny in Minorca though Sqad...breakfast on the terrace perhaps this morning ?
both starbucks and costas have free wifi, as do some M and S's and John Lewis. John Lewis wifi is pretty fast because I don't think many people use it.
I didn't realise it would work in my PC, but the two laptops are set up for my Broadband use only, and the two Helpdesks are not open today. I think I shall pop over to a neighbour later. Thanks for all your support in my darkest Hour !
All my neighbours are OK as well boxy. As an ex-BT engineer, I would hazard a guess that somebody has been tinkering about in the Exchange. No doubt they will start looking on Monday morning. Managing in the meantime with my little Acer notebook.
