do you have trouble trying to remember your passwords, i have any number now and though i can generally remember them, find that it's getting more problematic, as just about everything asks for a password protection.
There was an amusing article in the paper the other day by Tom Utley, he said that the papers IT boffins have asked all the staff to have a 12 character, number password, which seems a bit excessive. According to him the most popular are 123456, and one or two easily remembered but easily hackable ones, and that the loss to people runs in the billions on fraud.

I wish I knew of an answer to the whole question of remembering passwords.

Anyone hacking into my computer would have a field day because most of my passwords are stored by Firefox.

i know people who had them on post it notes, those that i worked with, seemed pointless, however the home ones can be a blessed nuisance. especially as some will lock you out if you get it wrong three times.

I have a small address book just for this purpose and keep it in a draw near my laptop.

what happens if you get burgled, there are all your passwords.

Like Dee Sa, I keep all passwords in a little book in my desk. My problem is when signing up for a new account and you need to select a few after they get rejected for various reasons, when one is finally accepted I forget which one I had used!!

Burglars break in and grab things in my experience, they don't tend to start going through address books looking for possible codes. Of course, I may live to regret this train of thought!

Firefox stores most of my online passwords for any forums I've signed up for, using a 'master' password.

The only ones not stored are for banking, Amazon or F/Book. Those are committed to memory.

Mine is quite easy to remember because it the name of an Alien in a TV show that was only ever mentioned once of five series.

I do have four variations of it though as mentioned some do require numbers.

As its far removed from me personally its quite easy but if I used Birthdate, pets name, mothers maiden name etc... like is suggested (on some sites) I would forget what I'd chosen.

I have thought of using a Master Password but have refrained because I can't even remember my Mobile Tel. number. Fat chance of me recalling a password which has to have the following:-

At least one capital letter.
One or more digits.
At least one non-alphanumeric character, such as the following: @ # $ % ^ & * ( ).

I have to write them down I'm afraid. I know we shouldn't do that but I wouldn't be able to cope otherwise. I have done a quick calculation , and I have at least 18 passwords to remember. But as a security meassure, I do change them every month of so, just to be on the safe side.

I have a program on my computer called "Password Manager" I store all my passwords in there. I just have to remember that password.

i don't store passwords on the computer, i have them in a place i hope no one finds, that will be me one day soon i bet.
