Whilst out and about today I noticed the car in front of me with the registration AR51EFX.

I thought registrations that made questionable words weren't permitted?

I once passed a HGV from a Benelux country, the name down the side of the truck was W@NK! I did wonder if he was a sole operator?!?!

I cannot imagine how much grief he got in truck stops.
For people who have one.....TO55ER
I just want to say, BU51 KOW was just a randomly lucky number plate. It wasn't a cherished number or anything.
That made it better somehow. I don't like personalised number plates. I think they're tacky, the modern equivalent of Wayne and Sharon in white on a green strip across your windscreen.
I saw MAG1C once, Paul Daniels I believe.

Some might think they're tacky, but they're not a bad investment,
I bought a '3 letter 3 number' (pre 1963) combo for OH about 10-12 years ago for £500, have recently been offered £3500 by a Numberplate Dealer, it's not for sale atm.

I saw one in deepest outback New South Wales a couple of months ago -
COP 1. Think it may have been a police car with the radar steadily humming along with the number plate recognition gizmo.
I have one (not rude, just a bit silly). I also think they are embarrassing and tacky, and it shouts "I have more money than sense!" I didn't choose to have it, myself. It came with the car.
It raises a smile among other motorists, at least.
Peter Allis ...golfer...has PUT 3 on a roller...
Don't know if this was a cherished number, but I saw an old Hilman Imp some time ago with the reg BRA 42 C - right handful by the sounds of it..............
My friend had D1 CKY
I've seen Jimmy White's car, the plate is CUE130Y when spaced appropriately spells CUE BOY. Very apt.
