My computer crashed last week so I had to use the system restore discs and load all my programs back on. Luckily I had back up files on a spare hard drive so have not lost any work. However when I try to reload the itunes program, it lets me reload it back on but will not let me open it. I just get a message saying it has encountered a problem and do I want to report in the microsoft. Can anyone help? I have all my music on the back-up drive but cannot load the program to play them.

download and install the latest version from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes

then once installed, copy all the music (copy at this stage, do not move) to your iTunes music folder, in c:\documents and settings\[username]\my documents\my music\itunes\itunes music.

then run iTunes, and click file->add folder. choose that folder above, now with all your music in, and wait for it to add everything. once done, click advanced->consolidate

that should be it. when you next dock your iPod, it'll have to re-sync all files again though. which may take some time.
