During a conversation in News the other day, I said I know many people who have changed their political allegiance from Labour to Conservative, but none at all who have swapped from Conservative to Labour. Floating voters aside, have you changed your political allegiance – and if so in which direction, and why? (After a lifetime voting Labour, Tony Blair succeeded in teaching me to vote Conservative).

emmie - After independence Mr Salmond will take his place in the queue along with the rest of us, and he knows it, believe me.

TTT - Are you from the Isles of Scilly? :-)
No. I've always thought politicians only care about their own interests and I still do.
No wharton the Scilly Isles are quite a way from Scotland.
Yes.
I used to live in one of the under-populated areas of the UK where the huge changes that are transforming our country into who knows what are still far away, that being today the heartland of support for the Lib Dems.

I now vote Conservative as they are the party of global realism and sound economic management. Labour don't seem to have a clue about anything as complicated as that!
It makes no difference who you vote for....because the government will still get in!
Sooner not vote at all than vote Tory.
Labour
Always have always will
My father would turn in his grave should I waver
I think my ex shop steward father would agree with me because for the last years of his life he became increasingly disenchanted with Labour and especially with his own TGWUnion. He became particularly upset by short sighted trade union action which resulted in companies closing down and the loss of jobs.
My parents voted Tory when I was young and I've stuck by that, seen the damage Labour done while they were in and would never vote for them
"The constituency where I live is represented by Dr Alisdair McDonnell of the mainly Catholic SDLP. "

Sandy, he has always struck me as one of the best MPs around.

Surely lots of people change their political allegiance. Now definitely in the Labour camp, I've supported all the three main parties in Great Britain at various times, and several of the many on offer (cheap at the price) in N Ireland
