Hi Seadogg, I believe you live in Scarborough. Please could you recommend a nice place to stay. I quite fancy the Red Lea hotel. Do you know what it's like. It looks great on Tripadvisor. We're going to the outdoor theatre to see Status Quo in July. I haven't a clue about distance from the town to the theatre. Any tips and advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated. X

I think TheOtherHalf lives in Scarborough too, Horsey, she used to be on some mornings before she started work at 7AM, but can't access AB from her work any more :-(

If I see her around I'll ask her to have at look at this or your other post too.

I hope you have a great time :-D xx

Thanks Albs. x
Sorry to butt in again but the Red Lea is quite away from the open air theatre and while there are lots of buses provided after the show so many people are coming out that you'd be better to get a hotel in walking distance IMO (couldn't get a taxi either so we went to pub till the crowd had cleared a bit)

You see Masma, this is EXACTLY the sort of info I need! Thank you again.
Sorry to be late horseshoes. Had a meal in the Red Lea recently but masma has the truth of it. All the places I know are on the South side of town and not much use to you after a concert at OAT. There are lots of small hotels and guest houses along Columbus Ravine and on the North Side which would be ideally placed but since a pal sold up his guesthouse I have no contacts.
There is bound to be info on the web if you put in Scarborough Tourism or similar. I'll have a think about it .

Hi Seadogg, thanks for replying. I think I've found a nice place called The Waves. It's on Esplanade Road, South Cluff (closed for a refurb until Feb). I've been to the AA site and it's 1.6 miles away from the theatre. I reckon we can walk that. What do you think?
