Alexander Bastedo Has Died.

She had a long battle with cancer. When I was younger, I thought she was so beautiful! I always wished I looked like her, but no chance!
She was only 67. RIP.

I have always thought - and indeed said on this very site - that she was one of the most beautiful women ever to appear on television.

I used to watch The Champions and just be entranced at how gorgeous she was - and I wrote to her e-mail address and told her so, and got a charming reply back.

Very sad indeed.

I loved The Champions when I was a kid and still watch re-runs when I spot them on. I so wanted to be her when I grew up, a natural beauty with incredible elegance.

I'm sure she popped up in Eastenders a few years ago or have I imagined that?

Very soon after she was on the telly in The Champions, she appeared in a play here in Swansea, which we all went to see as she such a cracker. Far too young to die...RIP.

I used to fancy her something chronic when she was in that show about humans with superpowers ( pre-dating many of todays "groundbreaking" shows) - Champions, was it?

It was LazyGun - she helped many a teenager in the 70's through those 'difficult' years!!!

I bought a calendar from her for husband for his birthday and got a lovely letter from her and she signed the calendar.How am I going to tell him shes died?

You are correct - a few weeks after he was voted 'The man most women would like to lose their virginity to ...' he was arrested for importuning.
