Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Stuck on several
4ac - old piece of raised ground in identical part of prison (8) - ?H???I?G
6d - it's normally written of most of African country in most of capital (8) - ??N???N?
13ac - little pieces are protean (6) - ???N?E
20ac - like these old pieces, it is hot after brief comment on cold? (7) - ?R?T?S? - british, brutish? why?
18d - old piece crossing itself below (8) - ???P???E
19d - proffered number of foreign coloured (8) - ???D???D - reddened? why?

Help appreciated, with explanations please.

Mites are in the Arachnid family so may stick with that.

I'm thinking Mite is more likely now.

I prefer mite as I haven't yet found an adequate meaning of PIDE that explains the 'old' (unless there is an old Scottish word i've missed).
Even mite seems to use the word 'piece' twice- is that accepted in cryptics?

Old piece being reference to the coin - Mite the arachnid.
