I much to the amusement of family and friends have bought a guitar .Have no sense of music but would be willing to seek advice on the matter .So its bin or sing .Any ideas .Then maybe we could have our own band orchestra right here on the ab show .Are there any music minded people out there ?

Don't bin it! Youtube do some great tutorials. I play the piano, flute and saxophone. I can't sing a note though so we need a singer! lol

Learn 4 or 5 basic chords. My suggestion would be A, D, G and E minor. You'll be surprised how many tunes you can play. Try to learn how to read Tabs (I can't but wish I could). There a great website and app called Guitar Tabs which has masses of popular tunes in both chord and Tab formats.

RAOTW actually has about 7 chords, most of them 5ths, so not easy for a beginner.
