They are reporting the charges against Rolf Harris in exactly the same they report any other famous person who has been charged with serious offences.

I don't expect they do these things lightly, one/some of the charges are quite recent.

Maybe some of these celebs are guilty of certain crimes in their past. However I read this week jimmy savile victims are to be paid £30 000 each in compensation. I very much doubt all will be genuine as in a lot of these new celeb cases.

Just wondering: Who are the 'victims' making the historic allegations? Could it be the same ones accusing well-known celebrities! Or are there really lots of groupies who now think the time is right to say something.

We don't know when they made the allegations. There were complaints about Jimmy Savile at the time and they weren't investigated.
