If the Jordanian authorities renege on the various promises they've given about his treatment in their country, who will there be to hold Theresa May to account?

Would it not be looking for a pound of flesh to deport innocent children?
Surely his right to family life requires his partner(s) and his children to be sent to Jordan with him - he has used the European Court to his advantage for so long - let HMG play the same game.

In the darkest days of the Red Terror in the Soviet Union, family members of those thought to be Trotskyites would have that fact marked on their papers. That stigma would stay with them all their days.
Is it the British way to punish innocent children because of the supposed sins of the father?
Not at all - it is to provide him with his rights to family life which requires his family to be with him. I cannot see the day when this person will ever again be admitted to the UK so therefore we would be complying with the european dictat and thereby allowing him to enjoy the company of ALL his family.
How is sending them to Jordan a punishment? Apparently they want to leave the UK:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/9771576/Abu-Qatada-family-say-they-want-to-leave-racist-UK.html

They say they "...want to leave the "small and filthy" £450,000 taxpayer funded home in North London. "

I should have thought they'd jump at the chance to jet off to the sun.

His right to a family life must be weighed against his childrens' right to life in a free, liberal, democracy.
I heard something along the lines of 'the Jordanian government will not use any information gained under torture in his trial'

Which made me wonder, that they might just torture him but not use it in any trial they hold?
If we introduced a law stating that anyone who is deported from this country will be accompanied by his family, I wonder if it would make any difference to the offender’s choice of behaviour? Just musing.

May not be a trial !
I doubt it, Naomi, they are so caught up in their own blind hatred and prejudices.
Question Author
And they might just torture him for fun. Their ways are very different from ours.
true Tone, maybe he might have a fatal heart attack en route to court or in the prison cell?
Mmmmmmmmm, yes alba, something like that.
Thank goodness he has gone but Theresa May was and is hopeless if she had any decency at all she should resign over this shambles. Forgive the un pc but Home secretary is not a job for a woman!! Neither is prime minister just look at Margaret Thatcher.
Meanwhile . . . are we still paying to keep in prison the despicable four sons and stepson of deported Abu Hamza?
gordie, you are having a laugh yes?
Question Author
Doesn't Theresa May have her eyes on the leadership and the keys of Number 10 in due course?
Abu Qatada Denies Terrorism Charges In Jordan.

Does anyone think they will believe him?
Tonyav "if he dies, he dies" was said by Drago(Dolph Lundgren) in Rocky 4.

To answer the question Therasa May acted in good faith so she'll always have that defence. I for one couldn't give a rats ar5e what they do with him.
