Hello my friends

I read yesterday about one guy who was at ease with himself. What does that mean?

Where I come from it means content/happy.

I have always taken it to mean

content, carefree, no worries, nothing on your mind or conscience

I agree with 08012006. Someone who is quite happy with his life and friends and, whilst not implying conceit, is happy with his own personality.

I have aslways thought it meant"not the most well spoken, and not the best manners, etc, but very nice and pleasant to be around "

Sorry, my answer was meant for Bartholmew referring to rough around the edges

Being at ease with yourself, as I understand it, means knowing who you are, your strengths and weaknesses, and being self confident and happy enough to "be yourself" in the safe and certain knowledge that you will be accepted.

The alternative state would be someone who is introspective and shy or self doubting and insecure.

Another phrase which means pretty much the same thing, is "Comfortable in your own skin"!
