I have a very old ancient Nokia mobile phone, pay as you go !!!
Have been to Carphone Wharehouse today and looked at a few and they said there may be more better on offer tomorrow. (more coming in)

One is a Samsung Galaxy Ace £7.50 month. +
Samsung Galaxy Fame.£12.50 month.
havent got much of a clue with modern phones cos i am ancient too, but want to show G/kids i am up with times, lol.

Would I use my old sim card? Or easy to transfer phone numbers.

Ill only use phone for calls, camera, f/book, google , A/B.

Any one got any good advice for me please x

are you buying just the phone sim free?

As you are going to be using the internet make sure whatever you choose, data is included.
with your numbers, back them up to the sim, then whatever you decide, the shop should be able to transfer them over for you, you may not be able to use the old sim depending on the size of it.

Dont know if sim is free fluff, didnt think it important!
Thought they all came with free sim.
I'm lost when camping, holidays away with no internet at hand, must update phone now. I'm nervous knowing i have to get used to a new phone. haha
Question Author
My sim will be outdated and no doubt it will be updated.
sorry by sim free, i mean are you buying the phone without tying yourself to any particular phone company.

if for example your current sim is with orange you may not be able to use it in a vodaphone, phone

Ah, see what you mean fluff, but still dont know the answer to that.
Will ask these questions when i return to the shop tomorrow.
Many thanks fluff x
Last week I transferred from an ancient Nokia to a Samsung GS, for much the same reasons as you. Would just warn you to Save everything, otherwise you will lose precious photographs and telephone numbers! It's as well to keep same number, one less thing for you to remember... And don't be discouraged when your speed slows down dramatically - this is because of your Muscle Memory, returning to the buttons you pressed on the old moby.

Have no photographs, just used for plain texting. No camera either.
Very plain ole mobile. I have a record of peoples numbers in my little black book.
I am also ancient and I have a PAYG mobile. It is just a basic model which I use for a few calls and the occasional text.
It has got a large selection of ring tones and message tones
It has got a large storage capacity for all my numbers
It hasn't got a built in camera
It hasn't got a built in radio
It doesn't connect to the internet
It doesn't cook breakfast.
It cost me £15 from Asda and it came with a £10 top up included
I can top it up with a voucher £5 or £10 at a time
I do not have a contract
It does everything I want - and very little that I don't want.
It's on the Asda (i.e. Vodafone) network and prices are available on their website. No hidden extras and no nasty surprises. Very easy to check your remaining credit.
I suggest you look very carefully before you leap into a contract which is going to cost you at least £7-50 a month - (that's £90 a year!)

If you want an expensive toy to keep up with your mates, then go for it. If you just want a phone with no bells or whistles - and no commitment, then I suggest you have a browse around Asda or Tesco and not one of the big High Street mobile phone shops!
