I purchased an activity bracelet thing so that I can track how much walking I do.

My mobile is too old to support the software but I will keep it as a phone. I want to buy a really cheap phone to pair with the machine. It says Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.3 OS.

I talked to my brother about this earlier in the week and we picked a phone. But I am now trying to see if I can get a cheaper one. It has to be Tesco Mobile.

Are any of these suitable:

Thanks

No, it has to be a smart phone

HC - thanks, this is the one that little brother helped me pick so I will just go for that

I wasn't sure what the definition of a smart phone was.

Choosing has two 'o' and not one - it didn't look right either way.

That Alcatel will be fine
Having read the reviews for the Alcatel the battery life is very, very poor. I'd prefer the LG

Thanks for your help. I really hope that I actually team it up with my new activity device and don't leave them sitting on my desk for months on end.

Have a Happy Sunday

The difference is that a non-smart phone is simply a dedicated phone handset although they can send/receive texts (which is the modern day equivalent to pagers, but delivery is less guaranteed). So called "smart" phones are really small computing devices that happen to have a phone call programme running permanently on them.
wolf,if you have a tablet, you may also be able to synch with that. It depends on the tracking device you've got. I had to link my fitbit with my Nexus,as my 4 year old Samsung fone wasn't suitable.

o-g thanks, I am a step nearer understanding.

pasta - my Kindle is ancient but will check

dieseldick - thanks, looks like a nice phone. I HAVE to buy mines from Tesco as I will be using clubcard tokens (which means I get it free). Good luck with your daughter - she sounds like a daddy's girl :-)

dick, that phone is unbranded and posted from China, despite the seller claiming it is in the UK. Whole load of hassle to send it back if it's rubbish.
