Probably the same reason my toddler always wants a wee the minute I sit on the throne myself.

Pets and children - teeny tiny terrorists that we let into our homes...
murphy's law Biggs, that's why we have cats ...
My cat's the same.[I don't take him for walks though] But he pesters me for food when I've just sat down and 10 minutes before the end of a programme he gets vocal because he wants to go out.

I have been very busy all morning, being watched part of the time by a half asleep pooch, and then then I thought I would have a cup of coffee and a sit down pooch imediately thinks it is walkies time.
My cat pesters me to go out, she's very vocal, as soon as she goes out and I shut the door she pesters me to come back in. Sometimes i'll open the door and she just sits there looking at the garden from inside the house. She always waits until I am either busy or resting comfortably to do this :-/
I think she must hate me!

My other cat is a little sweetie pie though :)

Our two get about 90mins out in mornings, I need the walk as well, about an hour in the evenings, rest of the day door to the garden is open, they can please themselves.
labs and retrievers can be right funny like that
Without fail my dog will kick the back door to go out as I'm dishing up dinner, as soon as we've sat down to eat he'll kick it to come back in. It drives me round the frickin twist!
It doesn't matter if the clocks go forward or beck either, or you change your own dinner time, they do it on purpose :-D
I think I'm gonna train our cat to take our choc lab out for a walk, all probs solved then !.
nature of the beast...
