Cupcakes

Rather than make one cake for Little Tiggs's birthday I was thinking of making a cupcake tree with assorted cupcakes. I'm after some cupcake recipes to have a got at. I usually do the basic recipe but I'd like some ideas on different ones with different toppings. Any ideas?

Baking is not my forte, but for my 40th birthday I had one giant cupcake and 40 normal ones each one had vanilla buttercream with different colour sprinkles and glitter on.
