I've been eating a lot lately, non-stop.. Im not sure why either. I noticed I've put on about 6 lbs in the past 2 weeks. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Or a good diet? How to avoid eating so much? pills? patches?.. help!!

you need to figure out why you're eating so much...maybe you've just got into the habit over Xmas, or maybe you're bored or depressed or lonely?

I'm guessing you're eating when you're not even feeling hungry, so before you reach in the cupboard...try and figure if you are truly hungry, if not...think why you want to eat something. Try to distract yourself by doing something else...reading...having a long bath...housework...going for a drive...or a walk, anything to take your mind off food.

Also, cut back on buying the easy-to-snack-on foods....crisps, biscuits, etc. If they're not there you can't eat them! Switch to the low fat/low calorie options when buying food too...so if you do snack...there's a few less calories at least!

However, if you are really concerned about your eating habits, and the weight you're putting on...go see your doctor. He'll be able to tell if there's anything medically wrong and if there isn't, should be able to refer you to a nutritionist.

could you be pregnant? try drinking water before you reach for the food, thirst can often be mistaken for hunger

I really wouldn't worry about it. I think it is to do with the weather/season! I find I eat so much more when the weather goes all cold and nasty. I think it is part of our hibernation instinct.

On the other hand you could have worms so maybe a check up at the docs to put your mind at rest?
