Have any of you been to a wedding or other event where there has been a sweet cart, and if so how we're the sweets served. I want to know because I'm seriously considering buying a cart myself. I'd welcome your comments. Thanks in advance.

Ps If you don't know what these sweet carts are like you can google them. I don't want to provide any links in case it's a mistaken case of advertising!

People help themselves using tongs and sweet bags or for an extra fee you can often hire an attendent to serve the sweets in small bags or plastic dishes.

It looks lovely,is this another American fancy we have adopted?

Yes it is from America, and getting very popular. I don't think there are any in my area so I think it may be just the thing for me. I have LOADS of vintage china etc.

Maidup, was it a wedding or some other event. I have a good idea of the charges, but what I was wondering was how many sweets people took, and how I would estimate how many of each variety of sweets I would take. I know that one company has 8 different varieties but I don't know how they calculate how many of each variety they need. I hope I'm making sense!
Sorry horseshoes I misunderstood I thought you were getting one for a special occasion, not starting up a small sideline or business, yes if you are in the kind of area which could benefit from this then why not,and the very best of luck, maybe do some research first though.
$64,000 question horseshoes!

I saw one at a children's birthday party and one of the mums dished the sweets out. I googled the company afterwards as I was interested in this novel idea and noticed you could hiure an attendent too. But how you estimate the amount of sweets in an adult environment I've no idea!

Although this one suggests 1/4 of sweets per person. Have a look at their packages.
