Sarah was playing Alice de Janczy. Alice had started off oop here in t'North and had married M.de Janczy who played her false
So she shot him
in the film she was said to 'have shot him- in the b+lls !' wh made me wonder about the dialog and whether it had been researched enough,
whereas in reality she had shot him in the gare du nord (that is a place in Paris and not a part of his anatomy)
and Alice was forever known in the Muthaiga Club as 'the fastest gun in the Gare du Nord'
When the Germans were bombing the hell out of London and the Londoners in 1940 accounts of the trial in the film ran and ran. The Londoners couldnt believe what was going on in the colonies at the time.
