No Sound On My Computer

Hi I hope someone can help me on this.. I've somehow lost all the sound on my computer..in device manager it says i've got no playback device.. I've got windows XP installed..how do i get it back? thanks in advance for any answers

You might have to reinstall the Audio drivers. Check with you computer manufacturers support web site for the latest drivers for your computer model.
no playback or no audio device found?
Reinstalling the sound driver is by far the best option. However (if you're having difficulty locating the disk or download) you could also try using System Restore to take your computer's registry back to a time when the sound still worked.

If the sound has just disappeared, is it possible that the wire/plug connecting the speakers to the computer has just been pulled out/removed accidentally???
Just a thought!
