For Prudie and any another Dorseters (?) Waxwings for some reason love Canford Heath of all places, but always just missed seeing them, so if they venture south that's where they will be seen.
As of today 29.11.2012, still no reports of Waxwings in Birmingham !!
There is a flock of waxwing in Corby.....the area of town close to me. If the wind blows them even closer you're invited to tea.

shall I make a cake just in case
Make a cake Rowan. There are ten waxwing at Appleby farm in Wellingborough. That's the other side of me from Corby. I think they are teasing me ....little sods must be male.
There are 50+ waxwing in Sainbury's car park in Kettering....guess where I am going tomorrow!
Please tell the little buggers to hang around intil Tuesday :-(
I will Dave but just heard there were 250+ north of Loughborough. Will find out about those if I can. x
Sorry Dave...little buggers not around when I got there just after noon. Reports say they were there but mobile mid-morning. Drivers do get crabby when you are walking around looking at the sky and getting in the way. Most people gave me a wide berth except for old ladies who came and stood beside me, looked up, saw nothing, patted my arm and walked away.
There's about a 100 at Meadowhall (Sheffield) if you want to combine a bit of Xmas shopping & birdwatching.
Carrust. I would travel for the birds. Shopping? Never. Once I was talked into a Christmas shopping trip there by friends who said they will never, ever ask me again. I hate shopping! Have you seen the waxwings?

shopping and birding.... I'd go if it wasn't so far...
Gness. I saw them last week about 100yds from my house & a couple of years ago I had them in my back garden fleetingly. As for Meadowhall, you've been once more than me!
I'm struggling to see them at all this year, Carrust. To have them in my garden, however fleetingly, would make my year.
My husband is a roofer and last week he seen a flock of about 20 Waxwing feeding on red berries on trees in a back garden in Liverpool, by the old Bootle hospital.
sorry I am going to make everyone very jealous now :) My neighbour across the road has got a tree in their front garden which the waxwings are very attracted to - I don't know what the tree is, but on Saturday I noticed about 8 of the beautiful birds, yesterday the numbers were up to about 40. They have nearly stripped the tree now, but there are a couple still around today. I am in NW London. A relation said that they have recently been seen on Berry Head in South Devon, if anyone is down that way
Jules.....Do you do B&B for Abers?
Waxwings (just a pair) on Pyracantha bush in South Bletchley, near Milton Keynes, yesterday
Waxwings seem to be thin on the ground after an excellent month or so, must be the berries in short supply as they have scoffed most of them. Had an added bonus of 6 gooseanders in my local park this afternoon.
Any on Brokeback Mountain carrust ??
You may answer YUP or YEP ! lol
