9a RAPHAEL; 4d OXGANG. Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (April 6 or March 28, 1483 – April 6, 1520), better known simply as Raphael; The carucate was sub-divided into oxgangs based on the area a single ox might till in the same period, which thus represented one eighth of a carucate. The L of 9a does not fit with the 1st G of 4d; where am I wrong please.

There is another post about these two clues, worth searching on OXGANG in the red box (on the answers tab) to see what the other one decided.

Thanks for your answers
That's a rather long clue!

It would have been helpful if Slogger had headed his enquiry with the puzzle number (1040), rather than just Sun Tel GK. What point is factor 30 making?
Who is Slogger, please?
So is all the stuff in the question box an answer then rather than a question?
If it's an answer to a question from Slogger then it's best to reply to that thread with the answer.
Slogger posted the same query. The question is clear to me?
There is no clue listed above so it wasn't clear to me, but if you have the crossword or have seen a previous question about it on here, chelle, then I'm sure it would make sense to you.
I wrongly assumed all that stuff above was the clue
it's got to be an error by the compiler...the only other possibilty for 4d is 'onland' but I've created that word to make it fit!
