I want to marinade some chunks of lamb neck fillet to make kebabs tonight.
Does anyone have any simple marinade recipes that I can make out of store cupboard ingredients.
I have garlic, rosemary, balsamic vinegar, olive oil. Will balsamic vinegar 'go' with lamb. Any ideas please.

Thanks for trying, alba. I could have looked on there myself. I'm just being lazy asking on here.

Plus it's nice getting different ideas.
I'd put your ingredients into a bag and shoogle the lamb about and leave for as long as possible.

Would the balsamic be o.k. then?
would seem so, I haven't tried it myself, but when googling they did say 2 tbspns on the defunct link :-)
Question Author
Right, thank you, alba. I'll go and do it now. Well, when I'm dressed. Can't fiddle about with food in my dressing gown.
Yes, but add a little tom purée to the mix.
Question Author
Thank you, NOM. I'll do that.
So balsamic vinegar, garlic, rosemary, tom puree, olive oil.
What about onion? Does it need onion?
Personally, I'd leave the onion out.
You could finely grate the onion.

Or you could do something totally different and marinate it in garlic, ginger, spices, lemon juice and natural yogurt.
For kebabs I'd use a mix along the lines of olive oil, cumin, chilli, garlic, lemon

The lamb kebabs were absolutely delicious.
I marinated them in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, tom. puree, fresh rosemary oregano and loads of black pepper.

They were beautifully tender. I served them with mushroom stir fry, wholegrain rice and steamed sweetcorn cobs.

Scrummy.

That sounds really delicious. (I'm hungry now!)

I can offer you some muesli, alba. That's what I'm having.

Thanks for your help yesterday.
Tea and toast here Tilly, thank you. x

I like the sound of NoM's one with yoghurt and ginger etc.
Question Author
I might try NoM's next time. Backdrifter's sounds good as well. I think that one would go nicely with chicken.

Anyway, boring old roast today. No messing about with a mortar and pestle.
