Its a female singer from the 90's I think, and it goes,

'Im a lot of faith

This is how I feel

I am cold and I am shamed, lieing naked on the floor...

The perfect sky is torn

You a little late, I'm already torn'

P.s. Does anyone know a site where one can search lyrics and get the song title and artist?

que?

mushroom, i think she meant she can't believe the poster didn't know who torn was by

one of the most overplayed songs of the 90s!

For the definitive example of "sour grapes" read the many interviews given by Anne Preven (co-writer of "Torn", along with fellow Ednaswap bandmember Scott Cutler & former Cure band member Phil Thornalley) where she castigates Natalie Imbruglia and lambasts her version of the song; a version which became an international hit (something Ednaswap failed to achieve with five other versions of the same song).

Ms Imbruglia famously caused a bit of a hoo-hah when someone congratulated her on the lyrics of Torn and she absent-mindedly replied with a simple "thanks". Cue much wailing, hand-wringing, gnashing of teeth and "Natalie claims to have written Torn" shock horror style headlines. In fact, of course, she did no such thing.

As for Anne Preven's sour grapes, maybe I'd take her more seriously if she stopped referring to the resolutely Australian Ms Imbruglia as "little Natalie from England".
