Thanks guys. Have to prepare the Eurovision BBQ!
Memo to self: Be busy doing something else
PS:
If you didn't watch the first semi, I recommend catching it on iPlayer. If you ignore Mel Giedroyc's inane comments, you might find it to be surprisingly good!

Thanks Buenchico, not much time left and so much to catch up on. We always enjoy it although we know perfectly well it's a set up with the East Europeans. But this year Australia is taking part. Something to do with being part of the commonwealth, be interesting who partakes next year !
I'm glad I work on Saturday Nights.....the UK entry is by far, the worst in years, in my opinion....predict bottom 5.....if not, and finishes higher, then I promise to set some Quiz on music, film, tv, general knowledge etc questions in Q&P.....howzat?

yogi...so, if you didn't work on Saturday night, you'd be forced to watch BBC1 for three and a half hours?
Did they sail Australia into European waters? 3 mile or 12 mile limit?
>>>Something to do with being part of the commonwealth

No it isn't!

The Australian Broadcasting Commission is an Associate Member of the European Broadcasting Union, with the Eurovision Song Contest always getting high audience figures in Oz. As it's the 60th year of the contest, Australia has been invited to join in the celebrations by participating this year. (They'd need to win this year to be allowed to enter again next year).

However if other Associate EBU members are allowed to compete in future competitions, we could be in for a very wide variety of music!

When it was played during a break in the first semi-final, the audience in Vienna gave it massive applause.

I think it's far better than anything we've had in the past decade and predict a top three position for it!
Aaarrghh...Yep, perish the thought, gingejbee....but alas..yes...I would be forced to watch it if home coz mrs bear LOVES Eurovision ( crazy yank!) and will be watching with a few friends, our two daughters and anyone else she can pool together to come around here on Saturday evening.
It is fun though,I give it that...the voting...mad! and Graham Norton's commentary said to be hilarious.
Sounds like the Uk entry might win Pointless before the Eurovision.
I could be wrong, Chris, my main man....they cheered for Englebert too.....but who votes for us in this climate apart from Malta, who like us a lot, and our friends across the sea, Ireland......and I like a bet, so your on, Buencheeky.
:-)

>>>they cheered for Englebert too

That wasn't applause, YB; it was sympathy!

;-)
LOL @ chris.....that did make me laugh :-)
Buenchico; if you truly believe that we will get a podium place in this year's contest, you may be interested to learn that we are currently 125/1 to win with Boylesports, 5/2 to come last with Betfred (who also go 12/1 for 'Nul Points') or how about the 6/1 offered by Bet 365 that we finish in the top 10:-)
I love our entry this year!

We won't do well again, but I don't think our entry this year is as embarrassing as usual- least the contestants have their own teeth for a change ;-)
