my friend has a teenage son who is at that age!! his history files are showing explicit adult sites have been viewed. apart from a payed subscription (netnanny etc) are there any good free internt controllers out there? any help would be appreciated.

There's one built into Internet Explorer - under Tools > Internet Options > Content > Enable.. (under Content Advisor). This will allow you to set levels of sites that are allowed to be viewed, and a supervisor password set.
