Does anybody know how to refurbish/recondition a netbook harddisk
so that it will run smooth and quietly like when the netbook was new.

Does it require new parts or a clean out to reduce the level of electrical noise/

Any knowledegeable thoughts welcome!

Thank you

If a hard drive is making noises your only options are to back up and buy a replacement, there are no user serviceable parts in a modern drive.
Save all the data ASAP on it and buy a new one
You can't refurbish hard disks.

You do realise that hard disks look like this, don't you?

And you are not making the all too common mistake of referring to the whole computer as a hard disk??

If so, and the computer is making a lot of noise then most likely is the fans and heat sinks need a blast with compressed air to clear the dust from them

if it's really the hard disk making a lot of noise then I'd suggest backing everything up that you want from it ASAP, hard drives making noise is a pretty good indication they are about to fail soon.
I have opened up dead hard drives and can assure you that they are completely unserviceable.
In addition, hard discs are assembled in a dust-free atmosphere. Impossible to replicate that at home, or even in a computer repair shop.
