The village my Dad and sis live in (where I just moved away from) is a few miles away from Thame where Robin Gibb lived and is where his funeral is being held today.

From what I gather just by reading facebook, a lot of people from the village are going to the procession in Thame. But not to pay their respects to him, just to see what celebs they can spot. One of them even has the nerve to moan that she's cold and bored of waiting.

What is wrong with some people? It's not en effing publicity stunt, the man died. I don't want to know these people anymore.

human nature..... but still not a very respectful thing to do
a reflection on today's society me thinks.......
Baffling...

But RIP Robin...
Facebook, I'ts only words.
i thought the bbc coverage was in poor taste too ...
no respect some folk..i have a pet hate that when our local paper reports on a funeral, and not even well known people, say some unfortunate soul has been killed in an accident or their is a young cancer victim then they will show pictures of the coffin being carried into church, along with the mourners, now that,in my opinion is an invasion of privacy and is a very private moment for the family and not to be splashed in the local rag..sorry rant over... but i just hate that..
Many people have drab lives and the opportunity for some local celeb spotting is ok in my book if it cheers them up. Anyway it's not going to bother Robin Gibb.

Me too.

On the day his death was announced, which BBC producer thought that 'Staying Alive' was a suitable track to keep repeating during the news bulletins?
How lovely to see Robin's two Irish Wolfhounds walking behind his coffin! He loved those hounds so much and it is so nice to see them included. RIP Robin, a great talent!

I guess you're right McMouse. It just seems in poor taste to me.
I see what you did there, tonyav
Very poor taste indeed , I agree EB
Glad someone has jno.
tony, iv^e only just " got it". ya wee devil :)
when I was young everyone had their front curtains drawn as a mark of respect on the day of the funeral if somebody died in your street and you bowed your head as the funeral cars went passed another mark of respect.
Not anymore and people chatting loudly on their mobiles without even a second glance and as for a street collection for funeral flowers you dont even know your neighbours anymore.Sad but true.
i saw a bit of it on the news just before, was that susan george with peter andre?
It's a celebrity culture, something to do with low self esteem I shouldn't wonder.
same as people who slow up in cars when they see a road traffic accident, or someone who has collapsed on a pavement, gawpers and ghouls.
