How long will the police/judges and courts put up with this behavior?

BOO

\\\\Because sqad, i was trying to say that "no, the UK isn't going to the dogs" at least not in this instance. \\\\

Fine.......your opinion is valued......but my post was NOT about your opinion, but the frequent use of the phrase "rose tinted spectacles" in such situations when comparing two generations.
Well you can't blame me for thinking you were referring to my post sqad, seeing as I was the only one who mentioned "rose tinted glasses". Anyhoo, apologies from me then :-)
BOO

\\\\same ABers and many of them not even born in that era?\\\

That would indicate that i wasn't aiming my comment at just YOU.

No apologies needed.

Still love you ;-)
The UK seems to have already "gone to the dogs" some considerable time ago. Maybe it was never "out of the dogs". Is there a country aound that isn't there ? Maybe I can retire there when the time comes.
i wasn't bori in the 60's ya cheeky sod :P I was born in 1970 and by the time i was old enough to be aware of mods and rockers, they'd pretty much died out.

Apologies trt for digressing.
I dont believe that there is a great deal more trouble than there has ever been at this sort of level. Teddy boys in the 50's, Mods/Rockers/Greasers/Hells angels etc have always fought not only with each other but also anyone who got in their way. Many a pub has been trashed by all these groups if you think otherwise you are misguided.

The difference is that the Courts, until recently, dont deal with them properly
/// so nothing like the mods and rockers running riot in towns in the 60's and 70's then? ///

Once again the history books come off the shelves, to somehow make excuses for what is happening in today's world.

If some are so interested in history perhaps we then should see a return of Approved Schools?

/// Offenders sent to approved schools, as well as receiving academic tuition, were assigned to work groups for such activities as building and bricklaying, metalwork, carpentry and gardening. Many approved schools were known for strict discipline, with corporal punishment used where necessary, generally a rather more severe version of the caning or strapping that was common in ordinary secondary schools. In particular, boys who absconded were usually given a maximum caning immediately on being returned to the school, and a 1971 statistical study found that this could be an effective deterrent.

Seems like a jolly good idea to me.
Ratter15: //mushroom25, what a stupid pathetic comment to make!!!! //

in this matter, I only speak as I see. this type of behaviour, allbeit on a slightly lesser scale, is common every friday and saturday at the McDrive-thru near where I live. it gets remarked upon occasionally in the letters page of the local paper, but since no-one ever responds to these "disgusted of West Midlands" letters, or indeed seeks to discourage the "high spitrited" behaviour prevalent every weekend, it has to be assumed that this is, at best, being tolerated.
